Lake Land College trustees Wednesday approved the purchase of virtual learning equipment for use at the Effingham Technology Center. A robotic arm is part of the purchase.

The equipment is designed to provide virtual reality experiences via laptops. Goggles will not be needed.

Growth in the welding program at the college led to the purchase of new stations for the Vo Tech building on campus in Mattoon.

Trustees also approved an equity plan for submission to the Illinois Community College Board. The plan identifies where there are deficiencies and how the college plans to correct those items.
