Legislation dealing with “farmer’s markets” sponsored in the House by State Representative Blaine Wilhour (R-Beecher City) was given approval Wednesday evening.

(REP. WILHOUR)

SB2617 provides that if a county government doesn’t have a local health department, or if their health department doesn’t provide the license, the county government shall enter into an agreement or contract with an adjacent local health department to register cottage food operations in the county's jurisdiction.

The measure now heads to the governor’s desk for his approval.
