Flora Man Charged w/Sexual Assault Charge

A Flora man has been charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.

26-year-old Braxton D. Allen was arrested Monday by Flora Police Department following the investigation of an incident alleged to have occurred in May 2021. Allen has been formally charged with two counts of the Class X felony offense and is being held in Clay County Jail in Louisville with no bond.

State Police, Flora Police, Wayne County Sheriff's Office and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services cooperated in the investigation.
