Teutopolis Board Approves Work at Grade School Fine Arts Building

Teutopolis school board members awarded water and sewer line work at the grade school Fine Arts Building Monday.

K. Wohltman Construction of Effingham will do the work, which will equip what is now the band building at the grade school for next school year, when Grades K-6 Art classes will be added at the building.

The Board voted to place an amended budget for the current fiscal year on file, with a hearing on the measure to be held at the June meeting. Also, a state contract was accepted with South Bus and Mobility for purchase of an activity bus, and authorizing Superintendent Matt Sturgeon to release as surplus property the equipment the bus will replace.

Personnel moves by the Teutopolis board included resignations from Amy Nice as high school PE and driver's ed instructor, Derrick Gaddis as high school bass fishing sponsor, Elizabeth King as high school English teacher, Kayleah Ambuehl as high school secretary and Karen Smith as junior high Scholar Bowl coach; retirement from Carla Jansen as a second grade teacher; Marla Pilcher's retirement as a high school paraprofessional, and Angie Hotze's resignation retroactive to May 2nd.

The Board hired Rochelle Repking as a first grade teacher, Brianna Waldhoff as a second grade teacher, Ashley Martin as a grade school paraprofessional, Tara Niemerg as as a grade school paraprofessional, Shawna Bloemer as a high school English teacher, and Rod Brumleve, Lance Dasenbrock and Ted Deters as bass fishing boat captains.
