Cumberland School Board Ready for End of Year

Cumberland school board members scheduled end of year dates at their most recent meeting.

Graduation is set for 2pm on Sunday, May 19. Baccalaureate will be held at Greenup Southern Baptist Church at 5pm on Sunday, May 12. May 20 will be the last day of student attendance.

The Board voted to accept the invitation to join the National Trail Conference in middle school athletics.

In personnel moves, the Cumberland board accepted Janel Haga's letter of retirement at the conclusion of the 2027-28 school year, accepted Dave Nees' letter of retirement as of June 30, 2028; accepted Amy Carr's resignation as middle school assistant girls basketball coach; accepted Caroline Kirchmer's resignation as an elementary teacher and the high school head volleyball coach as of the end of the school year; and employed Lauti Ghast as a grade school secretary.
