One Injured in Crash on City's East Side

A crash on Effingham's east side Tuesday afternoon sent one person to the hospital.

The crash happened just after 3:30pm on Fayette Avenue at Haney Street.  City police say a vehicle driven by 72-year-old Joyce King of Harrisburg rear-ended a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Robert Montz of Mattoon.  A passenger in Montz's vehicle, 32-year-old Jennifer Montz of Mattoon, was injured and was taken by ambulance to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.

No tickets were issued.
