(LUCINDA HART)

The Effingham County Chamber of Commerce has announced the resignation of Lucinda Hart as President and CEO, effective May 31. Hart has taken on the role of Executive Director for an international woman's association headquartered in Austin, Texas.

In speaking about Hart's tenure at the Chamber, 2024 Board Chair Dr. Austin Cheney said, "She played a pivotal role in steering the Chamber's initiatives post-pandemic, ensuring that the Chamber concluded with a strong reserve. Her dedication and hard work have been greatly appreciated by the Chamber Board of Directors."

In her resignation statement, Hart expressed gratitude for the support and opportunities provided by the Chamber. She stated, "While it saddens me to leave, I am excited about the new challenges ahead and am grateful for the experiences and relationships I have gained during my time in Effingham County."

The Chamber Board is beginning a search for a successor to assume Hart's role with a goal of a seamless transition. During their April meeting, Chamber board members delegated the Chamber Executive Committee the opportunity to seek an interim President and CEO before Hart's departure. A search for a permanent replacement will begin later this month.

As information is finalized, further details will be posted on the Chamber website: Effinghamcountychamber.com.
