Names Released from Wednesday Crash

Authorities have released the names of those involved in last Wednesday afternoon's crash northwest of Effingham. The crash happened shortly after 4pm at the intersection of Moccasin Road and Lake Sara Road.

Illinois State Police said a vehicle driven by 40-year-old Joshua Wendt of Mason struck the car driven by 28-year-old Jordan Warren of Beecher City, and the car then struck the rear of a stopped truck driven by 77-year-old William Fruth of Effingham. 

Warren was airlifted to Carle Hospital in Urbana for treatment of severe injuries.

Fruth's passenger, 70-year-old Marina Fruth of Effingham. was transported to the hospital with what were termed minor injuries.

The name of the seven-month-old boy fatally injured in the crash was James Austin Warren of Beecher City. Authorities say the infant was properly buckled into the vehicle.
