Officers at Scene of Crashes in Town, on Route 40

(THE SCENE AT MULBERRY AND ST. ANTHONY ABOUT 3:30PM TUESDAY)

A car struck an apartment building at Mulberry and St. Anthony in Effingham about 3:30pm Tuesday.

City police and fire officials were still on scene about 4pm. Initial information was that one person suffered minor injuries.

Emergency crews and law enforcement were also on scene of a four-vehicle crash on US Route 40 near 700th Street. The crash occurred about 3:45pm. The roadway has been cleared. Injuries were reported.

There was also a two-vehicle crash at Fayette and 4th about 4:45pm. Everyone was out of their vehicles shortly after the crash occurred.
