Stew-Stras School Board Fills Vacancy

Stewardson-Strasburg school board members have named Ryan Schutte to fill a vacancy on the board. Schutte replaces Chad Smith, who resigned from the Board in March and was hired at this month's meeting as SSO for the coming school year.

Board members also approved Allred's Floor Service for gym refinishing for $6,150; approved the student handbook for the coming school year; hired Michelle Figgins as high school assistant track coach; accepted a letter of resignation from Brianna Hewing as assistant junior high school volleyball coach; and rehired stipend and coach positions for the coming school year with exceptions and some open positions to fill at the May meeting.

The Board approved a negotiated contract with the Stew-Stras Education Association; and directed Superintendent Justin Deters to move forward with a CEP lunch program for rades K-8.
