Rural Effingham Man Arrested on Drug Charge

Multiple law enforcement agencies arrested a rural Effingham resident Monday afternoon on drug charges.

44-year-old Russell M. Beldi was arrested on a charge of possession with intent to deliver in excess of 100 grams of methamphetamine. The arrest was a joint effort involving the Effingham City Police Department, the Effingham County Sheriff's Office, and the Southeastern Illinois Drug Task Force.

Beldi was taken to Effingham County Jail in lieu of his initial court appearance.
