Altamont Council Approves Electric Agreement

Altamont City Council members executed a new power sales contract and capacity purchase agreement with Illinois Municipal Electric Agency.

The agreement is for the delivery period to commence October 1, 2035. While the agreement won't be effective for several years, putting it in place now helps the IEMA plan for the needs of the municipalities they serve.

The Council also approved an audit agreement with Clifton Larson Allen for $54,000.

Also approved were two agreements regarding an event to be known as "Yappy Hour". The event on Sunday, May 19 will run from noon to 4pm at Schmidt Park. SAFE will sponsor the event. There will be a wine tasting event that day and Vahling Vineyards plans to participate. 

Altamont council members also approved a Lions Club roadside fundraiser for Tootsie Pop Day on April 27.
