Woodruff Appointed Lake Land VP for Business Services

The Lake Land College Board of Trustees appointed John Woodruff, Charleston, as the Vice President for Business Services during the regular board meeting on Monday, April 8. Woodruff will officially begin his duties on Wednesday, April 24.

In this position, Woodruff will serve as the Chief Financial Officer for the college. He will provide strategic direction and oversight for all business operations, including information systems, facilities planning, physical plant management, human resources, auxiliary services and accounting.

Woodruff has a bachelor’s degree in business and a master’s in business administration from Eastern Illinois University. He has held leadership positions at Consolidated Communications, Inc. for 30 years, most recently providing strategic direction for customer service initiatives across the country as the Senior Director of the Network Operations Center. He is also the president and majority owner of Express Drive Thru’s, Inc. in Mattoon, which he launched 15 years ago.

Beyond his professional experience, Woodruff is active in his community. He serves as an Illinois High School Association (IHSA) licensed official for local track & field and volleyball and was named Official of the Year by the Illinois Volleyball Coaches Association (IVCA) in 2023. He has also served on a variety of community boards with organizations such as the Lincoln-Sargent Foundation, CCAR Industries, MASA and the Eastern Illinois University Panther Club.
