Effingham Water Authority trustees heard the latest at this month's meeting on the Pearson Peninsula project at Lake Sara.

Tom Ryan of the Parks and Recreation Committee said that he is looking into grants for the next phase of the project that wouldn't need matching funds. Ryan is also talking with organizations that might be interested in the project. He said he would like to update the master plan for the project before Bruce Brown with Farnsworth Group retires next year.

There was discussion of where drinking fountains might be located at the project. Lake Superintendent Mike Dirks will research the matter and report back to the Board.

Water Authority Attorney Tony Siemer said he is continuing work on a fiber optic extension agreement at the lake with Wabash Fiber.
