Jasper Board Chooses Courthouse Architect

Jasper County board members have selected their architectural firm on the Courthouse replacement project in Newton.

The Board selected Architecture and Design Group of Mt. Carmel. Eight firms selected information on the project, and four firms submitted statements of qualifications. The proposals are based on reputation and experience, since the price is a fixed percentage, rather than a low bid.

Stone and Waggoner Engineers will be the engineering firm.

The Jasper board voted in February to proceed with demolition of the current Courthouse and new construction of a courthouse at the current location.
