Stewardson-Strasburg school board members bid farewell to one of their own at this week's meeting.

Chad Smith has resigned from the Stew-Stras board after 15 years of service.

Also this week, the Board approved the SEPCO purchasing co-op agreement; approved membership in the IHSA and IESA for the coming school year; approved health and life safety amendments to replace two sets of west entrance doors at a cost not to exceed $39,348; approved sports co-op agreements with the Windsor school district for both junior and senior high school for the 2025 to 2027 renewal cycle; and approved a resolution on operating Stew-Stras School District in regards to vaccination, therapeutic and facial covering requirements.

Board members approved a bid from Orion Environmental for asbestos abatement for $24,471; approved an insurance renewal; discussed adding high school cross country; and discussed the 8th grade volleyball team making a state tournament appearance.
