Effingham Woman Found Dead at Residence

Authorities are investigating the death of a local woman.
The Effingham County Coroner's Office was advised at 11:59am Wednesday of the death of 37-year-old Ashley Nicole Haarmann of Effingham at 500 North 4th Street. Family members advised they found Haarmann unresponsive. Effingham County Coroner Kim Rhodes advised that Haarmann lived at the 4th Street address with her grandmother.
Effingham City Police, the City Police Detective Division, and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigator also responded to the scene.
An autopsy is scheduled for 8am Friday at the Sangamon County Coroner's Office in Springfield to determine the official cause of death.
Medical records were obtained and the Coroner's Office is awaiting the results of the autopsy and toxicology samples.
The investigation is continuing by the Effingham Police Department and the Effingham County Coroner's Office.
