Effingham resident Cole D. Heiden was sentenced to six months in jail and was placed on two years' probation for a drug conviction.
The 38-year-old Heiden was arrested last September following execution of a search warrant at a local mobile home on a charge of possession of methamphetamine and for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
In court Wednesday, Heiden was given the jail sentence and probation on the drug charge. The weapons charge was dismissed. Heiden was also fined for the drug offense.
Effingham city police were assisted at the time of Heiden's arrest by agencies including the Effingham Police Department/Effingham County Sheriff's Office Special Response Team and the Southeast Illinois Drug Task Force.
