Three Unit 40 Students Expelled

Three Unit 40 students were expelled by the district school board Monday night.

Each of the three students were expelled for the balance of this school year and for all of the 2024-2025 school year.

In personnel moves, the Board hired Makenna Wright and Melissa Schmohe as PFA Paraprofessional and Seasonal Help at Little Hearts Early Childhood Center, and Lisa Wagner was hired as a Teacher Assistant at Little Hearts.

Courtney Hybarger was granted a Family and Medical Leave Act leave.

Resignations were accepted from Jim McElroy as a four-hour bus driver and from Kyndall Andrews as a four-hour cook at South Side.

Honorable Dismissals were granted South Side Cafeteria Monitors Lisa Campton, Donna Gadd, Gayle Golden, Glynnis Leftwich and Tina Williams.

Also Monday, the Unit 40 board purchased new convection ovens for the high school and for Central School for a total of $20,400, and it was agreed to replace two vans, which will complete the rotation of vehicles.

Also approved was rejoining the SEPCO purchasing cooperative for another year for a $100 membership fee.

Board member Desha Wear was not present for Monday's meeting.
