Effingham Firefighters Around Portions of Town This Week Checking Smoke Detectors

Effingham firefighters will be traveling the area between Jefferson and Temple Avenues from 3rd Street east today, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Effingham Fire Chief Brant Yochum said firefighters will be checking smoke detectors and CO detectors in that portion of the city.

The chief says that if you need a smoke detector anywhere in town, contact the fire house at 217-342-2555 and firefighters will install the detector for free.
