Dieterich Finalizing Plans for Eclipse Event

Dieterich village board members heard more at their recent meeting about the village's plans to celebrate the Solar Eclipse event on April 8.

The celebration will actually be observed April 7 and 8 at Liberty Park and Pavilion. Activities will include a beer garden each day. "Flight 50" will entertain on the 7th, and "The Hiphuggers" on the 8th. The Board granted a temporary liquor license for the event.

The Dieterich board also granted approval to hire part-time employees for the Wright Family Center; granted permission to start seeking summer employees for the village; and discussed a volunteer work day with high school students being eligible to work to earn credit hours.

At a previous meeting, the Dieterich board approved revised fee schedules for water and sewer service to be revised according to the Consumer Price Index.

The Board is also looking for architectural services, as well as signage for the Wright Family Center.
