Teutopolis school board members continued a discussion of one of its existing district goals at a special meeting on Saturday.

The Board is exploring long-range planning for facilities. Teutopolis Superintendent Matt Sturgeon said the Board previously approved its architect to conduct a 10-year Health/Life Safety Survey this summer.

Sturgeon said the work will now include a requested report on facility master planning with project prioritization, space and occupancy information, and implementation timeline recommendations.

The Board Saturday also conducted a self-evaluation with Dr. Perry Hill IV of the Illinois Association of School Boards. Sturgeon said the retreat session was entitled "Starting Right" and focused on Board roles and responsibilities and resulted in protocols to support the Board's work.
