Stew-Stras Board Sets End of Year Dates

Stewardson-Strasburg school board members approved end of year dates and also okayed some building improvements at this week's meeting.

The Board set 8th grade promotion and high school graduation for May 17; 8th grade promotion at 6pm and high school graduation at 7:15pm. Board members also directed the administration to move forward with hallway painting, but to leave all current murals untouched. Also approved was the library and district office conversion, and replacing two sets of west entrance doors.

The Board approved the purchase of a minivan on a state bid and approved the purchase of a handicapped-accessible minivan with grant funds.

Stew-Stras board members accepted the letter of resignation of Courtney Koebele as of the end of the school year, and hired three teachers; Mary Hill for Math and Social Studies, Nick Stephens for Art, and Brock Friese for Science.
