Things got a little exciting Wednesday afternoon when an unknown object fell through the roof at Sloan Implement.

Larry Probst, store manager at the business, located along Route 40 between Effingham and Teutopolis, said the incident occurred sometime between 2:30pm and 3pm. The object created a hole in the roof about six inches wide and a foot long.

Probst said the object reportedly landed about three feet from two mechanics working at the business, but no one was injured. A search turned up a dark-colored object among the white gravel around the building, and it's believed the object is what fell through the roof. Still no information as to whether the object fell off a plane overhead or just what happened.
