The highly anticipated Six String Summit is back for its seventh consecutive year, promising an electrifying evening of unparalleled guitar virtuosity and sensational vocal performances.
Hosted at the prestigious Effingham Performance Center this coming Saturday, this year's summit showcases six of the region's finest guitarists, backed by the phenomenal Summit Band and Singers.
The 2024 lineup boasts an impressive array of talent, featuring renowned regional artists such as Alex Thoele of Chain Station, Marty Williamson of Hello Dave, Andy Baylor of Clockwork Orange, Reverend Robert from Superbad, Tad Freezeland, and Rod Evans of The Feudin Hillbillys.
Each player will play a 15-minute set, showcasing their unique style across various genres including bluegrass, country, blues, and classic rock, performed on both acoustic and electric guitars.
"The Summit Band and Singers are the foundation of our show, but our secret weapons are our lead vocals and harmonies. I think everyone expects to hear a lot of great guitar playing, but they're always surprised by how much focus we put into our vocals," show producer Marty Williamson expressed.
Audiences can anticipate a seamless flow of music from start to finish, culminating in a grand finale where all six guitarists share the stage for an unforgettable, once in a lifetime performance. Adding to the excitement, special guests Max Heuerman, JB Faires, Russ Sanderson, Justin Beyers, Jackie Freezeland, Jake Hoult, Shane Burtch and Dennis Ricketts will join the event.
The EPC lobby opens its doors at 6:00 p.m., with the performance commencing at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are priced at $20 each and can be purchased at the EPC's box office, by phone at 217-540-2788, or online at www.ticketmaster.com/epc.
