Site Plan for Auto Tecnico Approved

Effingham City Plan commissioners Tuesday approved a site plan for Auto Tecnico, located at 1106 West Edgar Avenue.

The business is owned by Duane Lewis and is located east of Abe Lincoln Motel and next door to the site of O'Reilly's. The site plan establishes where the boundaries and parking will be located. 

A public hearing for the rezoning of acreage along South Route 45 was withdrawn from the agenda at the request of the developer.

There was discussion of a draft of guidelines for cryptocurrency facilities. Further discussion is expected at an upcoming City Council meeting, and a public hearing on the issue is expected at the Plan Commission's March meeting.

There was also some discussion of a timeline for development of an updated Comprehensive Plan for the city. The project is expected to take several months to complete.
