Altamont school board members Monday took action on a series of personnel moves.
The Board moved Johanna Hooks from junior high ELA to high school ELA teacher for next school year, accepted letters of resignation due to retirement from Nina Fletcher and Lisa Endebrock, and employed Elizabeth Chambers as junior high girls track coach. Abby Bailey and Cailin Gilpin were hired as grade school parapros, and the Board approved high school students Bailey Pontious, Juan Fulk and Andrew Ellersick to do part-time custodial work. Board members also granted an employee leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act.
The Board approved regional Safe School program and Regional Office of Education alternative high school intergovernmental agreements for next school year.
Altamont board members set high school graduation for 5pm on May 18, approved early graduation for two students, and discussed next year's school calendar with a vote to come at the March meeting.
The Board heard from two FCCLA officers and their teacher on the Altamont chapter's activities, and from Maintenance and Facilities Director Alan Whitt on the ongoing need to hire additional custodial help, recent LED lighting upgrades, and summer projects.
