Saturday Death Due to Natural Causes

The Saturday death of a local man was due to natural causes.

The Effingham County Coroner's Office was called early Saturday afternoon to a residence in Effingham at the request of the Effingham Police Department.  80-year-old Bobby J. Petty was found unresponsive in the residence by a friend.  Petty was pronounced dead at 2:40pm.

An investigation disclosed that Petty died of natural causes and no foul play is suspected.
