The Effingham Performance Center announced Monday that Executive Director Janie Oldfield will not renew her expiring contract and will complete her tenure with the organization later this summer, on or about September 1.

Ms. Oldfield departs the theater to pursue new opportunities which will afford more time with her family, particularly grandchildren.  Ms. Oldfield has been Executive Director of Effingham Performance Center since its opening in 2010.

Tom Henderson, co-Chair of the Board of Directors of Arts Connection of Central Illinois, the not-for-profit operator of Effingham Performance Center said, “We have seen tremendous growth during Janie’s tenure, and as Janie departs, EPC is well-positioned to continue to offer highest quality entertainment, positively impacting the vitality and economic growth of Effingham and the surrounding region.”

Rich Jorn (pictured above), EPC General Manager since 2010, will assume the day-to-day operation of the presenting organization.  He holds a BFA from Arkansas State University and has extensive background in theater production and venue management, having served in such roles at Manship Theatre in Louisiana and Firehouse Center in MA.  He also toured as Production Manager for Dane Cook’s three national tours from 2007 through 2010.

Jorn’s background in education includes producing children’s theatre at Liberty Island Theatre in MA and Manship Theatre as well as serving as Technical Director, designer and instructor at Arkansas Arts Center Children’s Theatre.
