Teutopolis village board members Wednesday voted to switch engineering firms.

The Board voted to work with Milano and Grunloh Engineers of Effingham after utilizing Conner and Conner Engineers in the past. The process of selecting a firm has gone on for several months.

The Board also agreed to get the process of updating the village's Comprehensive Plan underway, and agreed to reacquire property at 816 South John Street. The family who was expecting to move to Teutopolis and purchased the property got transferred to a different location. The Board also granted a three-month extension to Repking Eye Clinic to complete their development work. The firm is planning to open a clinic along Main Street.

Board members discussed a deck that was added to a house at 311 North Wall Street. A portion of the deck sits on a street easement. The Board will check with their attorney to obtain an encroachment agreement. The Board also discussed scheduling a TIF Joint Review Board meeting to address administrative duties of the village's two TIF districts.

The Board also heard from two local businesspeople interested in future residential development. Board members heard that there are only nine lots still available in Prairie View Subdivision. The businesspeople were inquiring as to where another residential subdivision could be developed.
