Altamont Man Injured in Crash at Effingham

An Alltamont man was injured Thursday morning in a collision on the west side of Effingham.

55-year-old Wilbert Wendte was injured when his vehicle collided with a unit driven by 45-year-old Keith Brimmer of Cypress, Texas.  The crash happened at 5:26am on West Fayette Avenue at the Westbound 70/Southbound 57 interstate interchange.

Wendte was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.

Effingham city police, Effingham Fire Department, and Rural Med EMS all assisted at the scene.
