The Teutopolis Park District has received a $346,500 award from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.

Park District President Paul Grunloh said the funds will allow for the replacement of the original playground equipment paid for by another OSLAD grant received when the park was built 30 years ago. Other plans for the funds include renovation of the tennis courts, work on the park pavilion, improvements to the ball diamonds, and drainage work.

Grunloh, who has been a part of the park district since its start, said the grant needs to be matched with local monies, and plans are close to completion for efforts to raise the local match.

OSLAD is the acronym for Open Space Land Acquisition and Development. This is the 37th year for the program.

Also, a grant of $118,300 was awarded to South Central Illinois Regional Planning and Development Commission.
