Three Counts Including Murder Filed in Fayette County

Three charges, including first degree murder, were filed in Fayette County Circuit Court Wednesday. The charges stem from the shooting death of a 14-year-old boy in St. Peter Saturday night.

Fayette County Assistant States Attorney Jessica Carr Martin has charged 17-year-old Kaden A. Phillips with the murder of the 14-year-old, as well as counts of attempted first degree murder and aggravated discharge of a firearm.

The victim was shot in the chest. Police were called to a house in the 700 block of North 2200th Street shortly after 8pm to investigate the incident. Phillips fled the scene, but was later apprehended. 

The shooting victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
