Two semis collided on the interstate at Effingham early Friday morning.

Effingham Fire Chief Brant Yochum said the call came about 3am. The collision caused one rig to strike a light pole in the center median, knocking the pole over into one of the northbound/eastbound lanes of traffic. One of the rigs ended up on its side, while the other one ended up on the shoulder of the roadway.

One of the drivers was treated for a laceration.

Firefighters were on scene until around 6am to secure the area while crews dealt with the downed light pole.
