(MORRIS)

A Shumway man has been sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to a count of criminal sexual abuse.

50-year-old Sean Morris was arrested in July 2023 following an investigation by the Effingham County Sheriff's Office. The sentence will be served concurrently with a count of financial exploitation of the elderly or disabled stemming from a separate case.

Morris will serve one year mandatory supervised release once out of prison. Judge Marc Kelly also gave Morris credit for 100 days served while awaiting disposition of his case.

Morris was ordered not to have any contact with the victim or their family, and was directed to register as a sex offender.
