The new year brings a fresh new look for Effingham County with the launch of a new website.

Effingham County first made its appearance on the world wide web with the launch of a website in 1999. As technology improved and more traffic was generated through the internet and websites, Effingham County moved to update its website in April of 2011.

Since 2011, the internet has continued to prove to be the place people frequently use to access information and stay informed. Keeping local residents informed of their government and providing easy access to public information is a vital role for Effingham County. The county was finding the old website clunky and difficult to manage. Most importantly, the old website would be unable to support new technology available that could benefit county residents.

In March 2023, the Effingham County Board approved earmarking ARPA funding to update the county website. Since that time, Effingham County has been working with imaginethis! marketing group to create a new, updated, fresh look for Effingham County that would provide a robust platform for the county to be able to disseminate all proper information to its local residents.

This new website has now launched and is available to be used by local residents. The new website shares up to date information on various items of interest such as public meetings, vital records, elections, liquor licenses, raffle licenses, property transfers, tax payments, disbursements, property tax inquiries, tax exemptions, farmland assessments, tax parcel maps, highway commissioners, zoning and setbacks, accident reports, jail, youth court, adult and juvenile services, public defender services, victim/witness advocacy, traffic tickets, jury duty, passports, civil and criminal court proceedings.
