Altamont School Board Updated on Band Activities

Altamont school board members Monday heard from three high school band students. The students presented highlights from the marching season, the holiday concert, pep band and drumline activities, Alumni Night and upcoming events.

The Board heard from Maintenance Director Alan Whitt on an ongoing need to hire additional custodial help and on a replaced water heater tank at the high school, and from Superintendent Casey Adam on annual updates to the high school course catalog and an update on superintendent performance goals. Adam also presnted a collective bargaining update to Board members.

In personnel moves, the Altamont board accepted Tessa Philpot's resignation as high school volleyball coach, employed Neil Winter as junior high boys track coach, approved the transfer of Amy Miller from first grade to Kindergarten for the coming school year, agreed to keep closed session minutes closed as they pertain to personnel and other confidential matters, and approved an overnight trip for FFA to attend the Ground Zero Conference in Springfield.
