Teutopolis Golf Cart/Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle Registration

Attention Golf Cart and Recreational Off-Highway Owners in Teutopolis:

Beginning January 4, 2024, the 2024 Golf Cart and Recreational Off-Highway Permits will be available starting at 8:00 a.m. Renewal packets were mailed to all 2023 permit holders in late December.

There are two options to renew your permit. Option one is to mail the signed renewal forms and money to Teutopolis Village Hall. Once the paperwork is received, a sticker will be mailed to you. Option two is to renew in person at Teutopolis Village Hall.

Golf carts and recreational off-highway vehicles previously inspected and permitted do not require reinspection in 2024. Only golf carts and recreational off-highway vehicles NOT previously permitted in the Village of Teutopolis must be inspected. To obtain an inspection, you must call Village Hall at 217-857-3543 Ext. 101. Please make these appointments at least two days in advance.

You must have the following information to obtain a permit for a golf cart or a recreational off-highway vehicle.

 Valid Driver’s License

 Proof of Insurance

 Release of Liability Form

 Fifty dollars ($50) for a Golf Cart Permit

 One-Hundred dollars ($100) for a Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle Permit

Important information:

 To obtain a Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle Permit you must have a Teutopolis address or live within 1 ½ miles of the Village of Teutopolis limits. There are no exceptions to this rule.

 You must be 21 to operate a recreational off-highway vehicle.

 You must be 18 to operate a golf cart.

 The Golf Cart and Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle Permits only allow you to operate within the Village limits legally. There are no exceptions to this rule.

 A copy of Ordinance Numbers 980 and 999, An Ordinance Amending Chapter 71 of the Code of Ordinances for the Village of Teutopolis, Illinois (Golf Cart and Recreational Off-Highway Vehicles), can be found on the village website or picked up in the office.

ANY GOLF CART OR RECREATIONAL OFF-HIGHWAY VEHICLE ON VILLAGE STREETS WITHOUT A 2024 STICKER WILL BE TICKETED. NO ALLOWANCES WILL BE GIVEN!!
