Sigel residents are gearing up for a weekend of celebrating.
The village's 150th anniversary will be marked by a Celebration Weekend. Activities will be headquartered in Sigel Park, but other locations will also be utilized.
Here's the schedule for the weekend:
Saturday, June 29--
9am-noon--horse farming
10am-4pm--threshing and machinery displays
2pm--kids games
3pm--Urbie's Historic Wagon Tour (meet at St. Michael's Catholic Church parking lot)
6pm--commode races (on ball diamond)
8pm--Naked Sissy's Band
9pm--steam engine spark show
ALL DAY--beer garden, food vendors, quilt show at the Lutheran church, history museum at the American Legion, Ladies Sodality pie sale
Sunday, June 30--
10am-noon--car show (on ball diamond)
noon--parade (lineup at Henderson Timber)
2-4pm--threshing and machinery displays
2pm--horse pull
3pm--costume judging and beard judging
4pm--ladies sodality pie auction
ALL DAY--beer garden, food vendors, quilt show (in the Lutheran Church), history museum (in the American Legion)
If you miss the tour on Saturday, you can take a self-guided tour at any time; stop in Krampe's Cafe for a self-guided brochure.
