Unemployment Rate for Illinois, Number of Workers Both Up for November

The Illinois jobless rate for November was 4.7%, up a tenth of a percent from October.
Non-farm payrolls increased 6,800 in November, indicating more people in the labor market.
In November, the industry sectors with the largest over-the-month job gains included Manufacturing, Educational and Health Services, and Other Services. The industry sectors with monthly payroll job declines included Professional and Business Services and Information.
The state's unemployment rate was 1.0% higher than the national unemployment rate for November. The national unemployment rate was 3.7% in November, down 0.2% from the previous month.
