Washington Savings Bank Welcomes Sipes as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Washington Savings Bank has announced that John Sipes has been hired as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Sipes will supervise all of Washington Savings Bank's accounting and finance functions.

Sipes' career in banking began in 1994 as a customer service representative and vault teller for BankIllinois in Champaign. Since 2003, he has been with First Mid Bank and Trust in Mattoon. He served as vice president, asset/liability manager, and investment officer.

Sipes said of joining the Washington Savings Bank team, "It is an honor to join a team that has consistently demonstrated commitment to our communities, and I am eager to contribute to the legacy that precedes me."

Washington Savings Bank President Dave Doedtman said, "We are thrilled to have John Sipes come on board and look forward to seeing what the bank's future holds with some direction and expertise given from him."

Sipes resides in Charleston with his wife and two children.
