Finalists Announced in Effingham Holiday Lights Competition

For many families, taking a drive to see Effingham's beautifully decorated houses and businesses is a holiday tradition.

This week, Visit Effingham's judges combed the city's neighborhoods to find the top houses and businesses for each category in their 10th Annual Holiday Lights and Festive Sights competition. Now, Visit Effingham needs you to vote and help select the winners. The winner in each category will receive $250 with the winning business choosing their favorite charity to receive the money.

The nominees for each category are listed on the map provided. They include:

THE MORE, THE MERRIER: 1104 Holiday Drive...705 West Lawrence Avenue...and 2600 Willenborg Street

THE HALLMARK HOUSE AWARD: 2000 Steger Drive...1008 Beckman Drive...and 1015 Beckman Drive

THE SPIRIT OF EFFINGHAM BUSINESS AWARD: 800 North 3rd Street--The Orchard Inn...1901 South 4th Street, Suite 12--Kathy's Resale...and 122 East Section Avenue--Tom Henderson State Farm

Go see the lights, tally up your favorites, and go to this address to cast your vote: www.surveymonkey.com/r/holidaylights23. You have until Thursday, December 21 at noon to vote for your favorite holiday lights. 

Vote at the address, or at the website www.visiteffinghamil.com , or in person at Effingham City Hall, located at 201 East Jefferson Avenue in Effingham.

Two voters will be selected at random to win one of two $100 gift cards to an Effingham-area business. The winners of the competition will be announced the afternoon of the 21st.
