Teutopolis village board members Wednesday discussed changes in the cost of lots in Prairie View Subdivision.
The Board is looking at charging contractors $3,000 for a lot, and others will pay $5,000 for lots along Oak Street, and $8,000 for lots along John Street. Those new prices should be finalized at the next Council meeting.
Board members also discussed hiring a part-time police officer, and decided to begin the process. It was also decided to purchase a new police department vehicle for a base price of $40,985, and then also voted to purchase body and in-car cameras as well as tasers for the police department.
The Board reviewed improvements to the properties at 611, 613 and 617 West Main and decided that no further action is needed. They also spent $80,000 on a replacement filter for the water treatment plant; purchased a lawn mower for just under $13,000; and approved $150 Christmas bonuses for employees of the Village.
