Effingham Water Authority trustees agreed to assist with temporary financing on the Lake Sara Beach property.
Parks and Rec Committee member Christo Schultz told the Board at this month's meeting that the State's final payment of $200,000 should be coming soon. Schultz said there will be a shortfall for the next two to three months of $32,000, and asked the Water Authority to cover the amount in lieu of using a line of credit, and the Board agreed to the plan.
The Water Authority board passed the levy for the coming fiscal year; approved the purchase of a new truck for Superintendent Mike Dirks with a trade-in; and approved a request from Robert Huey, Jr. to combine two lots into one in Pearson and Castello Subdivision. The Board heard from Dr. Doug Kabbes about vacating the road at his properties and about dredging done that has changed the setbacks. The Board will set a special meeting to look at the properties, then make a decision as to what should be done.
Also, no bids were received on a lot in Gypsy Cove; and Dirks reported that work on the Winterrowd house on Court Six is nearing completion. Also, Water Authority Attorney Tony Siemer said that he would prepare an agreement with Wabash Fiber Optic for installation of fiber optic cable at the lake, and Siemer reported that the proposal received for audit services came in considerably higher than the estimated quote from the current auditor.
Randy Thoele spoke to the Board about a replat of a lot in Kessler Oaks. Thoele said his boat house is on his neighbors' property, so he is purchasing the property and asked to purchase 2,890 square feet of Water Authority property to straighten up the lot lines. The Board accepted the proposal.
The Board was also updated on the start of leaf collection, and heard from Brad Hastings of the Boating Committee on when docking lights should be used, along with addtional lighted buoys, and additional rules and regulations on the map included with the boat licenses.
