Fatal Crash Friday Night in Shelby County

One person was killed and two people were injured in a crash in Shelby County just after 8pm Friday.

The person killed was the driver of the vehicle involved. Illinois State Police report that 18-year-old Corey Gordon of Shelbyville was traveling southbound when Gordon's vehicle ran off the roadway to the right and struck an address sign. The vehicle continued southbound, crossed back over the roadway, and entered the left ditch. The vehicle then struck a fence before striking three large trees. The vehicle overturned, crossed over the roadway, and came to rest on its wheels.

Gordon was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Two passengers in the vehicle were injured and were transported to an area hospital for treatment.
