Illinois State Police Has First-Ever Female Second in Command

The Illinois State Police has its first-ever First Deputy Director.

Rebecca Hooks was promoted from Lieutenant Colonel, and is the first female to serve as First Deputy Director with the state police since its inception in 1922. Hooks is second in command to State Police Director Brendan Kelly.

Hooks is in her 22nd year with the state police.
