Holiday Season Drawing Near in Effingham

The City of Effingham is getting into the holiday spirit.

City Tourism Director Jodi Thoele told the City Council this week that downtown displays are going up, and that the Wonderland in Lights display in Community Park is in place. The annual Walk-Thru of Wonderlights in Lights will take place on Wednesday, November 22 from 5-8pm, with the display opening for drive-thru viewing on Thanksgiving evening.

The Chamber-sponsored Hometown Christmas will take place on Saturday, December 2.

The City earlier announced its Christmas card design contest, and this year's Holiday Lights and Festive Sites competition will begin soon.
