There were 5.6 days suitable for field work during the week ending November 5.

Statewide, the averagetemperature was 41.5 degrees, 7.6 degrees below normal. Precipitation averaged 0.22 inches, 0.7 inches below normal.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated 8 percent very short, 19 percent short, 69 percent adequate, and 4 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 13 percent very short, 31 percent short, 55 percent adequate, and 1 percent surplus.

Corn harvested reached 90 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 84 percent.

Soybeans harvested reached 95 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 88 percent.

Winter wheat planted reached 95 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 87 percent. Winter wheat emerged reached 77 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 64 percent. Winter wheat condition was rated 1 percent very poor, 5 percent poor, 21 percent fair, 56 percent good, and 17 percent excellent.
