One Person Killed in Three-Vehicle Crash in Jasper County

One person was killed Sunday night in Jasper County in a crash involving two cars and a semi.

Illinois State Police were called to the intersection of Illinois Route 33 and 1800th Street, the Zook's Nook area, at 7:21pm. The two cars were traveling east, while the semi was headed westbound. Police say the semi attempted to turn left when the crash occurred. The driver of the first car was declared dead at the scene, while the driver of the second car was teken to an area hospital for treatment of what were termed minor injuries. The driver of the semi was not injured.

Jasper County Coroner Jason Meyer said the name of the person killed is not yet being released, pending notification of next of kin.
