Park Board Again Considers Change in Workman Complex Management Firm

Effingham Park Board commissioners are considering a change in managers of the Workman Sports and Wellness Complex.

Rink Management Services has managed the facility since its opening. Park District Director Jeff Althoff and the Board recently heard from representatives of Trophy Fitness as a potential manager. Althoff said the Board has some time to consider the matter since Rink Management's contract doesn't expire until next fall.

The Board approved the tentative tax levy ordinance for the coming fiscal year. The measure totals $1,496,749, which is about $70,000 more than the current year's levy.

The levy will likely be finalized at the December board meeting.
